National Youth Choir of Wales: Alumni Choir

Former member of the National Youth Choir of Wales?

Help us celebrate the Choir’s 40th Birthday by joining our Alumni Choir.

This summer, National Youth Arts Wales is bringing back former members of the NYCW to perform alongside the class of 2024 in a Gala Concert at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea.

Led by Tim Rhys-Evans, current NYCW conductor and himself an alumnus of the Choir, the joint choirs will perform the concerts “Finale”, consisting of 4 celebratory works including Hubert Parry’s I Was Glad, and the Choir’s unofficial anthem, Tydi a Roddaist

We would love as many former members to come and join us and so we’re keeping things simple.

Cost

Suggested minimum donation of £50 towards our charitable work.

We know that alumni will incur travel and accommodation costs to take part in the celebration. So, instead of charging a fee for the weekend, we are asking Alumni to contribute a “pay-what-you-can” donation towards our charitable work.

In 2024, at least 50% of the Choir will be in receipt of a bursary, totalling £22,000. Any donation you give could help us to support even more singers in future years.
