Inspire Your Students with National Youth Arts Wales

At National Youth Arts Wales, we support young people to develop their talent and creativity through high-quality, bilingual performance and training opportunities throughout Wales.

Whether your students are new to the arts or already performing at a high level, there's a place for them in our national ensembles or creative projects.

Our National Ensembles

🎭 National Youth Theatre of Wales (NYTW)
Creative residencies where performers and theatre makers train, collaborate and rehearse professionally led stage productions.

🎻 National Youth Orchestra of Wales (NYOW)
Intensive residential courses and concerts for young instrumentalists, led by world-class musicians.

🎺 National Youth Brass Band of Wales (NYBBW)
A high-level programme for young brass musicians, offering expert tuition and performance opportunities.

🎶 National Youth Choir of Wales (NYCW)
A high-quality choral experience where young singers develop their vocal skills under the guidance of acclaimed conductors.

💃 National Youth Dance Wales (NYDW)
A dynamic training and professional performance programme offering access to leading dance artists and choreographers, with a strong focus on developing dance technique, artistic voice, and collaborative practice.

Creative Projects

We also run exciting projects throughout the year that help even more young people across Wales access the arts:

🧩 Assemble – Creative workshops and events for non-mainstream schools, empowering disabled and neurodivergent learners.

🌍 Change Makers – A youth-led collective shaping the future of Wales’ arts sector.

🎻 Strings Attached – Skills-building workshops for string players (Grade 4+).

🎤 Côr Skills – A development project for young singers aged 14–18, focusing on confidence, technique and ensemble singing.

🛤️ Professional Pathways – Training in performance, backstage skills, stagecraft, writing and theatre making in partnership with major Welsh arts organisations.

We’ve Visited Over 25 Schools in 2025!

Earlier this year, our NYTW Education Roadshow toured schools and colleges across Wales. Students heard directly from our ambassadors about life as a NYAW member, and how to get involved. The response was incredible — with many now applying to join our programmes.

National Youth Dance Wales (NYDW) visits schools and colleges across Wales to deliver engaging taster workshops. If your school offers dance or has students with a strong interest in the art form, we’d love to hear from you. NYDW taster workshops provide a fun and welcoming introduction to our work, including an inclusive dance class, the chance to learn NYDW repertoire, and an opportunity to meet members of the NYDW team.
