Applications for the 2020 National Ensembles are now open

National Youth Arts Wales welcomes applications from talented young Welsh performers, whatever their background or location. Each Ensemble has its own application guidelines and audition requirements as detailed below and you can hear plenty of audition tips from former members and tutors to help you perform at your very best on the day.

We look forward to receiving your applications and meeting as many of you as possible throughout November 2019 as we visit Cardiff, Mold, Rhyl, Bangor, Pembrokeshire, Camarthen, Welshpool. Audition
The audition will require you to take part in a 2-hour audition workshop which will include a contemporary dance technique class and creative session.. It is highly recommended that you attend an audition workshop but for applicants that are unable to attend one of our workshop audition dates please contact jamiejenkins@nyaw.org.uk  to discuss alternative arrangements.

Audition
Your audition will take between 20-25 minutes and will be unaccompanied. You will be required to play two pieces of your own choice as well as a selection of scales and arpeggios, some sight reading and prepared pieces of music. Full details and information as well as the music you need to prepare in advance can be found in the audition packs for your instrument group. Audition
The National Youth Wind Orchestra of Wales will run biennially therefore we won’t be running any specific auditions for the Wind Orchestra until Autumn 2020 for the 2021 Programme. However, woodwind players are encouraged to audition for the National Youth Orchestra of Wales 2020 Programme.

Audition
The audition will be led by a friendly panel of artistic associates and staff from National Youth Theatre of Wales and Theatr Clwyd. You will take part in a 3 and a half hour audition that will include a workshop element alongside an individual slot to perform a short piece of your choice in either Welsh or English. Further details can be found in the Audition Pack. We highly recommend that you attend an audition workshop but in exceptional circumstances we may be able to offer alternative arrangements by contacting the producer on meganchilds@nyaw.org.uk

Audition
The audition will require you to take part in an hour long workshop which will focus on you singing as part of an ensemble and will led by Tim Rhys Evans. This will be followed by a short individual audition where you will be required to sing a song of your own choice, a short piece of simple sight-reading and a few exercises to determine your vocal range. There is also a short piece of music to prepare in advance and this can be found in the audition pack.
