National Youth Arts Wales announces Momentwm dance development programme
National Youth Arts Wales (NYAW) is delighted to announce new funding support from Arts Council Wales for the development and launch of Momentwm, a youth dance development programme designed to strengthen high-quality dance provision for young people in Wales.
The programme will provide consistent weekly training opportunities, offering sessions that create space for technical development, creativity, reflection and wellbeing. Momentwm aims to address gaps in regional provision while nurturing the next generation of dancers in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Alongside the weekly programme, a series of events will be delivered across Wales to celebrate youth dance and bring the sector together through discussion, exchange and shared creative experiences.
“Momentwm is about creating opportunities for young people to grow technically, artistically and personally through dance,” said Jamie Jenkins, Head of Dance at National Youth Arts Wales.
“We want young people across Wales to feel connected, supported and inspired, with access to regular, high-quality training and creative experiences that can have a lasting impact on their confidence, wellbeing and future ambitions. This funding allows us to build something sustainable and genuinely transformative for youth dance in Wales.”
