National Youth
Orchestra
of Wales
Perform For Wales
A note from NYOW Producer
“In 2027 we look forward to the first major collaboration between National Youth Arts Wales’ two largest ensembles. Whilst the Orchestra and Choir have a long tradition of working together on smaller works, like Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms in 2018, next year the combined ensemble will tackle major repertoire for the first time in what will be a combined ensemble of approximately 200 fantastic young musicians.”
Matthew Jones OBE
National Youth Orchestra of Wales Producer
2027 Programme
Conductor: Carlo Rizzi
Carlo Rizzi is an internationally renowned opera and orchestra conductor who has worked all over the world including La Scala in Italy and The Met in New York as well as having a long-standing relationship with Wales’ own Welsh National Opera.
He has also conducted the National Youth Orchestra of Wales on several occasions and enjoys a special rapport with our members.
Carlo brings with him a wealth of experience and fantastic musicality and has always inspired the NYOW members to perform brilliantly – we’re really looking forward to working with him again next year.
Repertoire: We’re still working on the exact repertoire with some exciting options being considered at the moment.

£1,050 + £50 Non-refundable Bond
Your membership fee is a contribution to all tuition costs, accommodation, food and board, travel within the residency and social activities. The full value received by each individual is over £2,750 - but thanks to the generous support from our funders and supporters, National Youth Arts Wales (NYAW) subsidises a significant part of the costs of being a member of one of the national youth ensembles.
However, we aim to make sure that money is never a barrier to participation in any of our ensembles or projects. We understand that for some applicants this contribution may be out of reach, which is why we run a generous bursary scheme that supports where support is needed.
If you have an annual household income of less than £125,000, Our Bursary Fund could help to cover some, or all, of your membership fee.
We also offer an instalment payment plan.
-
Our Bursary Fund could help to cover some or all of the membership fees, so that no-one is deterred from applying for the NYAW Ensembles for financial reasons.
Visit NYAW BURSARY FUND for full information including how to claim help toward audition costs and membership fees.
