National Youth Arts Wales are returning with a National Youth Jazz Wales Summer Residency this summer on 25-28 August at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff.

Join us for a fun-filled week of playing, learning, and making music together! 

We’re delighted to be working with an excellent team of tutors, including Huw Warren, Andrew Bain, Paula Gardiner, Tomos Williams and Joe Northwood. 

The Residency is open to young people aged 14+. It is not suitable for complete beginners — as a guide, participants should be around Grade 3 standard or above — but the most important thing is that you have a passion for jazz and a willingness to learn, play, and collaborate. 

Registration will open at 9:30am on Tuesday 25 August, with classes starting at 10:00am.  

The course will finish on Friday afternoon 28th August with a sharing event in the RWCMD foyer. Parents, friends and family are warmly invited to join us and celebrate the week’s music-making before everyone heads home. 

 The 4-day residency will cost £400. The fee includes tuition, three-nights accommodation and meals. Bursaries are available for those who need financial assistance. If those travelling from further afield require accommodation on the Monday evening - get in touch with us.
